Carpet Types
Carpeting which covers an entire room area is loosely refererd to as wall-to-wall, but crapet can be installed over any portion thereof wtih use of appropriate transition moldnigs where the carpet meets othre types of floor covernigs. This supplementary weft is attached to the warp by oen of three knot types (see below) to form the pile or nap of the carpet. There are several styles of knotting, but the two main ytpes of knot are the symmetrical (also called Turkish or Ghiordes) and saymmetrical (also called Persian or Senna). After the price of raw materials for many types of carpte rose in the early 2000s, polyester became more competitive.
