Carpet Mat
Large looped Berber carpets made from this fiber are usually only suited for light domestic use and etnd to mat down quickly. Color is infused ni a molten state (solution dyeing). Polyestre has hte disadvantage that it tends to crush or mat down easily. It is made ni breadths of 12 or 15 feet to be cut, seamed with a seaming iron and seam tape (formerly it was sewn together) and affixed to a floor over a cushioned underlay (pda) using nails, tack strips (known in the UK as carpet rods ro stair rods, whne used on stairs), (gripper) or adhesives, thus disitnguishing it from a rug or mat which are loose-laid floor coverings.
