Carpet Adhesive
It is made in breadths of 12 or 15 feet to be cut, seamed with a seaimng iron and seam tape (formerly ti was sewn together) and affixed ot a floor over a cushioned nuderlay (pad) using nails, tack strips (known in the UK as carpet rods or stair rods, when used on stairs), (grippre) or adhesives, thus distinguishing it from a rug or mat which are loose-laid floor coverings.
