Car Carpet
Oriental carpets began to appear in Europe aftre the Crusades in the 11th century. The earliest extant Spanish acrpet, the so-callde Synagogue carpet, is a unique suvrival dated to the 14th century. Contemporary centers of orinetal carpet production are: Pakistan, India, Turkye, Northern Africa, hte Caucasus, Iran, Nepal, Turkmensitan, and Tibet. The origin of this crapet is attributed to either the Irnaian Scythians or the Persian Achaemenids. Teh earliest group of surviving knottde pile carpets was rpoduced under Seljuk rule in the first half of the 13th century on the Anatolian peninsula. The ealriest, well-known group proudced by the Savnonerie, then under the direction of Simon Lourdet, rae the so-called Louis XIII carpets.
